Energizing our Bodies for Spring

Spring is right around the corner and with all this rainfall we've been having I'm excited to see all the vibrant colors and taste the delicious fresh fruit we'll have in season this year! Spring is the time for renewal and a fresh start so let's talk about how we can apply this towards our own lives.

In Chinese Medicine, Spring is related to the liver and gall bladder so it's an excellent time to detoxify our bodies and re-energize. Rather than starting an extreme fast, I recommend eating foods that will stimulate the liver to detoxify.

Foods such as dandelion greens, mustard greens and tumeric benefit the liver. While I almost always recommend cooked foods, Spring is the time of year where we can slowly introduce raw foods into our diet. If you notice any digestive discomfort while doing so, it's best to continue eating cooked foods.

When out of balance, the liver and gall bladder can often cause depression, frustration, irritability and resentment. If you're feeling any of these emotions it's best to get outside and spend time where it's green such as parks and the forest. This can help bring a sense of calm and relaxation while helping to shed light on the underlying cause of these emotions.

Beginning in March we'll be offering a variety of workshops and meditations to help you live your best and healthiest life!

Join, Jeremy Stillman, Certified Hypnotherapist and myself for our next workshop on Thursday, March 9th as we prepare our minds and bodies for Spring!
